Begin with Old and New Delhi sightseeing, continue to Agra for the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, then travel by overnight train via Umaria to Bandhavgarh for several days of authorised morning and afternoon jeep safaris. The itinerary is designed for wildlife enthusiasts, photographers, couples and small groups who want meaningful time in tiger habitat without sacrificing India’s most celebrated heritage highlights. Bandhavgarh’s safari zones, registered vehicles and guides are governed by Madhya Pradesh Forest Department permits, and all wildlife sightings remain natural and cannot be guaranteed. The historic itinerary’s elephant-safari references have been removed from the base package and replaced with currently authorised vehicle-based safari arrangements.
Day-wise Itinerary
Day 1Arrival in Delhi+
Arrive at Delhi Airport or railway station, meet the Saar Holidays representative and transfer to your hotel. Complete check-in and spend the remainder of the day relaxing after your journey or exploring nearby markets at leisure. Overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 2Old & New Delhi Sightseeing+
After breakfast, enjoy a full-day guided exploration of Old and New Delhi. The programme may include Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat, India Gate, the Presidential Palace drive-past, Humayunu2019s Tomb and Qutub Minar, with Red Fort or other monuments included according to opening days and the final sightseeing plan. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 3Delhi to Agra u2013 Taj Mahal & Agra Fort+
After breakfast, drive from Delhi to Agra and check in at the hotel. Later visit the Taj Mahal, subject to its weekly closure and monument timings, followed by Agra Fort and selected viewpoints or local markets if time permits. Enjoy the evening at leisure and stay overnight in Agra.
Day 4Agra to Umaria u2013 Overnight Train+
Enjoy breakfast and a relaxed morning in Agra. Depending on the confirmed train schedule, additional Agra sightseeing may be arranged before transferring to the railway station for the overnight train journey toward Umaria, the rail gateway for Bandhavgarh. Overnight on board the train.
Day 5Umaria to Bandhavgarh u2013 Afternoon Safari+
Arrive at Umaria, meet the local representative and transfer by road to the selected wildlife resort near Bandhavgarh National Park. After check-in, lunch and rest, join an authorised afternoon jeep safari in the confirmed tourism zone with the required registered guide, subject to permits and forest timings. Return to the resort for dinner and an overnight stay near Bandhavgarh.
Day 6Bandhavgarh Morning & Afternoon Safaris+
Begin before sunrise with an authorised morning jeep safari in Bandhavgarh, exploring sal forest, grassland and rocky habitats known for Bengal tiger, leopard, sloth bear, gaur, sambar, chital, wild boar and rich birdlife. Return to the resort for breakfast, lunch and rest before a second authorised safari in the afternoon, ideally in a different confirmed zone when permits allow. Dinner and overnight stay near Bandhavgarh.
Day 7Bandhavgarh Tiger Safari Day+
Spend another full day in the Bandhavgarh landscape with morning and afternoon authorised jeep safari sessions subject to permit availability, zone allocation and the Forest Department schedule. The programme is designed to maximise time in different habitats and improve overall wildlife-viewing opportunities, while all tiger and other animal sightings remain natural and cannot be guaranteed. Overnight stay at the wildlife resort.
Day 8Bandhavgarh Wildlife & Nature Exploration+
Continue the wildlife programme with further morning and afternoon authorised jeep safaris according to the confirmed permit plan. Between drives, relax at the resort or join a lodge-side naturalist talk, birdwatching session or approved local nature experience if available. Return to the resort after the final safari for dinner and your last overnight stay near Bandhavgarh.
Day 9Final Bandhavgarh Safari & Overnight Train to Delhi+
Rise early for a final authorised morning jeep safari in Bandhavgarh when included and permits are confirmed. After returning to the resort for breakfast and check-out, drive to Umaria railway station for the overnight train journey back to Delhi. Overnight on board the train.
Day 10Arrival in Delhi & Departure+
Arrive in Delhi and meet the Saar Holidays representative. Depending on the onward flight or train schedule, transfer to a hotel for wash-and-change facilities or proceed directly to the airport or railway station.
