ABOUT THIS JOURNEY

Overview

Discover the cultural character of God’s Own Country on this 8 Nights / 9 Days Kerala Cultural Tour combining colonial heritage, traditional performing arts, backwater life, spice country, wildlife landscapes and tea estates. Begin in Kochi with Fort Kochi, St. Francis Church, the Chinese fishing nets, Mattancherry, Jew Town and a Kathakali performance, then continue to Alappuzha for an overnight cruise aboard a confirmed Kerala houseboat. Travel through plantation country to Thekkady for a spice experience and an authorised Periyar nature or boating programme, followed by Munnar for tea landscapes, Mattupetty, Echo Point and Eravikulam National Park when open. Return to Kochi for a final relaxed evening before departure. The original Saar Holidays page is currently unavailable, so the programme is reconstructed from a strong matching 8 Nights / 9 Days Kerala Cultural Tour with the same Kochi–Alappuzha–Thekkady–Munnar structure and cross-checked against current Kerala Tourism service-provider information. Houseboats should be booked through a suitably accredited or verified operator, Periyar activities remain subject to permits and forest rules, and Eravikulam access is subject to seasonal closure and current park operations. Older animal-riding suggestions found in some legacy Kerala packages are not included in the base programme. The tour is ideal for couples, families, photographers, culture lovers and small groups wanting a balanced introduction to Kerala’s heritage, performing arts, landscapes and backwater traditions.
