Experience Rajasthan at a slower, more immersive pace on this 16 Nights / 17 Days Rajasthan Camel Safari Tour. Begin with Delhi, Mandawa and Bikaner before reaching Jaisalmer for a five-night guided desert expedition through the Ramkunda, Peerwal, Sam, Jeseiri and Kuldhara sectors, followed by Jaisalmer heritage sightseeing, Jodhpur and Jaipur. The original Saar Holidays page is currently unavailable, so this programme is reconstructed from a strong exact legacy 16 Nights / 17 Days Rajasthan Camel Safari itinerary with the same route and day structure, then professionally updated for current operating practices. Rajasthan Tourism continues to recognise camel safaris in the Jaisalmer desert, including Sam and Khuri areas, and maintains registration provisions for safari operators. Camel stages in this package are therefore planned only through a suitable local operator, with healthy animals, appropriate saddles and loads, regular rest/water breaks and walking or support-vehicle alternatives whenever heat, terrain, animal condition or traveller preference requires it. The legacy elephant ride at Amber Fort has been removed. The tour is designed for adventure travellers, photographers, couples and small groups seeking desert camps, rural Rajasthan and major heritage cities in one extended journey.
Day-wise Itinerary
Day 1Arrival in Delhi+
Arrive at Delhi Airport or railway station, meet the Saar Holidays representative and transfer to your hotel. Complete check-in and spend the remainder of the day at leisure after your journey. Depending on arrival time, enjoy a relaxed orientation or nearby market visit before beginning the Rajasthan desert adventure. Overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 2Old & New Delhi Sightseeing+
After breakfast, explore Old and New Delhi by private AC vehicle. Depending on opening days and the final sightseeing plan, visit or view Laxmi Narayan Temple, Raj Ghat, Jama Masjid, the Red Fort area, India Gate, Qutub Minar, Humayunu2019s Tomb, Connaught Place and the central government district. Return to the hotel in the evening for an overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 3Delhi to Mandawa u2013 Shekhawati Havelis+
After breakfast, drive from Delhi to Mandawa in Rajasthanu2019s Shekhawati region. Check in at the heritage hotel and later explore selected frescoed havelis, traditional lanes and the Mandawa Fort area, with time to appreciate the painted merchant architecture that made Shekhawati famous. Overnight stay in Mandawa.
Day 4Mandawa to Bikaner+
Leave Mandawa after breakfast and drive to Bikaner. After check-in, visit Junagarh Fort, the Prachina Museum or other selected heritage attractions, and Bhandasar Jain Temple subject to current timings and visitor rules. Spend the evening at leisure in the old city and stay overnight in Bikaner.
Day 5Bikaner to Jaisalmer+
After breakfast, travel west across Rajasthan toward Jaisalmer, the Golden City and starting point for the multi-day desert safari. Check in at the hotel on arrival and spend the rest of the day relaxing, exploring nearby markets or preparing for the camel expedition. Overnight stay in Jaisalmer.
Day 6Jaisalmer u2013 Bada Bagh u2013 Baisakhi u2013 Ramkunda+
After breakfast, meet the local desert safari team and begin the camel expedition, subject to animal-welfare checks and weather conditions. Travel through the desert landscape toward Bada Bagh to see the royal cenotaphs, continue via Baisakhi for a village lunch or local stop, and reach Ramkunda by evening. Healthy camels, appropriate saddle/load limits, rest and water breaks are required; guests may walk or use support transport where needed. Dinner and overnight stay in a staffed desert camp near Ramkunda.
Day 7Ramkunda u2013 Roopsi u2013 Lodurva u2013 Peerwal+
Continue the desert journey after breakfast through small settlements and open Thar landscapes. Pass Roopsi and stop around Lodurva, the former Bhati capital known for its Jain temples, then continue through the traditional village belt toward Peerwal. The day combines controlled camel-riding stages with walking and support arrangements according to heat, terrain and animal condition. Dinner and overnight stay in a staffed safari camp near Peerwal.
Day 8Peerwal u2013 Salkha u2013 Kanoi u2013 Sam Sand Dunes+
After breakfast, continue through the desert toward Salkha and the Kanoi area, observing wells, pastoral life and rural settlements along the way. Reach the Sam Sand Dunes by late afternoon for one of the journeyu2019s signature sunset experiences. Enjoy a campfire-style evening, traditional Rajasthani dinner and folk music when included and operational. Overnight stay in a staffed desert camp near the dunes.
Day 9Sam Dunes u2013 Kanoi u2013 Masoordi u2013 Jeseiri+
Leave the main dune area after breakfast and continue across quieter desert tracks. Pass Kanoi and stop around Masoordi for lunch before travelling toward the Jeseiri sector, traditionally used as a safari halt near a water source and oasis-like landscape. Camel-riding duration is kept flexible according to animal welfare, guest comfort and local conditions. Dinner and overnight stay in a staffed desert camp.
Day 10Jeseiri u2013 Dedha u2013 Deegasar u2013 Kuldhara+
After breakfast, continue across the desert through Dedha and Deegasar, with locally coordinated pauses in village areas where appropriate. Reach Kuldhara, the well-known abandoned settlement near Jaisalmer, and explore the site according to current access rules before settling into the final safari camp. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in the desert near Kuldhara or an equivalent authorised camping area.
Day 11Kuldhara u2013 Moolsagar u2013 Amarsagar u2013 Jaisalmer+
After breakfast, conclude the multi-day camel safari and return toward Jaisalmer, stopping around Moolsagar and Amarsagar when road conditions and access permit. On arrival in Jaisalmer, check back into a comfortable hotel, freshen up and spend the remainder of the day at leisure after several nights in desert camps. Overnight stay in Jaisalmer.
Day 12Jaisalmer Fort & Heritage Havelis+
After breakfast, explore Jaisalmeru2019s golden sandstone heritage with visits to Jaisalmer Fort, selected Jain temples, Patwon Ki Haveli, Salim Singh Ki Haveli, Gadisar Lake and the old-city lanes according to monument timings. Enjoy time for local crafts and photography before returning to the hotel. Overnight stay in Jaisalmer.
Day 13Jaisalmer to Jodhpur+
After breakfast, check out and drive to Jodhpur by private AC vehicle. On arrival, check in at the hotel and spend the afternoon at leisure. Depending on arrival time, explore the Clock Tower and Sardar Market area or simply relax after the road journey. Overnight stay in Jodhpur.
Day 14Jodhpur Heritage Sightseeing+
Spend the day exploring Jodhpuru2019s royal heritage. Visit Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada and selected old-city attractions, with optional time for accessible areas or viewpoints connected with Umaid Bhawan Palace and local markets according to the final programme. Return to the hotel in the evening for an overnight stay in Jodhpur.
Day 15Jodhpur to Jaipur+
After breakfast, leave Jodhpur and drive to Jaipur, Rajasthanu2019s Pink City. Check in at the hotel on arrival and spend the remainder of the day at leisure, with time for local bazaars, handicrafts or a relaxed evening. Overnight stay in Jaipur.
Day 16Jaipur Royal Heritage Sightseeing+
After breakfast, visit Amber Fort using standard road, authorised jeep, shuttle or another available visitor transport; elephant riding is not included. Continue to City Palace, Jantar Mantar, the Hawa Mahal area and Jal Mahal viewpoint, with time for Jaipuru2019s bazaars and crafts. An optional cultural dinner or folk programme may be arranged separately. Overnight stay in Jaipur.
Day 17Jaipur to Delhi & Departure+
After breakfast, check out and drive back to Delhi by private AC vehicle.
