Experience the classic Har Ki Dun trek on this 7 Nights / 8 Days Himalayan adventure from Dehradun. Travel to Sankri, the gateway to Govind Pashu Vihar, then trek through Taluka and the traditional village of Osla before reaching the beautiful cradle-shaped Har Ki Dun Valley. Spend time among alpine meadows, pine and deodar forests, mountain streams and dramatic views toward Swargarohini and the surrounding Garhwal peaks, with an optional guided extension toward the Jaundhar Glacier viewpoint depending on trail and weather conditions. Day-wise Itinerary
Day 1Dehradun to Sankri+
Meet the trek team in Dehradun and begin the scenic road journey into Uttarkashi district toward Sankri. The drive follows mountain roads through the Yamuna and Tons river regions, passing hill settlements, forests and valleys before reaching Sankri near the entrance to Govind Pashu Vihar. Check in at the guesthouse or homestay, meet the guide for a trek briefing and equipment check, enjoy dinner and stay overnight in Sankri.
Day 2Sankri to Taluka+
After breakfast, travel by local vehicle toward Taluka where road conditions permit, or begin walking earlier if the road is not operational. Start the trek through dense Himalayan forest alongside the Supin river, enjoying wooden bridges, mountain streams and the peaceful valley landscape. Reach the Taluka camping area, settle into the trek camp and enjoy dinner surrounded by the forested Garhwal mountains.
Day 3Taluka to Osla+
Continue trekking upstream after breakfast through beautiful forest trails and small mountain settlements. The route gradually climbs toward the historic village of Osla, known for its traditional wooden houses and distinctive local culture. Spend time observing village life and the surrounding terraced landscape before reaching the campsite or basic trek accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay near Osla.
Day 4Osla to Har Ki Dun Valley+
After an early breakfast, leave Osla and trek deeper into the Har Ki Dun landscape. The trail opens into broad alpine scenery with meadows, streams and increasingly dramatic views of the Garhwal Himalayas. Reach the Har Ki Dun camping area and enjoy the spectacular cradle-shaped valley, with Swargarohini and surrounding peaks dominating the horizon when the weather is clear. Dinner and overnight stay at the trek camp.
Day 5Har Ki Dun & Jaundhar Glacier Viewpoint Excursion+
Enjoy a full exploration day in Har Ki Dun. Subject to snow, weather and trail safety, trek with the guide toward the Jaundhar Glacier side or an appropriate high-valley viewpoint, enjoying alpine landscapes and panoramic mountain views. Return to the Har Ki Dun campsite by afternoon, relax in the valley and spend a second night surrounded by the high Himalayan scenery.
Day 6Har Ki Dun to Osla+
After breakfast, begin the descent from Har Ki Dun toward Osla. Retrace the scenic route through meadows, streams and forest sections while enjoying a different perspective of the valley. Reach the Osla area by afternoon or evening, settle into camp and relax after the dayu2019s trek. Dinner and overnight stay near Osla.
Day 7Osla to Taluka & Sankri+
After breakfast, trek downhill from Osla toward Taluka through the Supin river valley and forest trail. On reaching Taluka, continue by local vehicle to Sankri where the road is operational. Check in at the guesthouse or homestay, enjoy a hot meal and a comfortable final evening after completing the main trekking section. Overnight stay in Sankri.
Day 8Sankri to Dehradun Departure+
After breakfast, check out and drive from Sankri back to Dehradun through the scenic Tons and Yamuna valleys. Arrive in Dehradun by evening depending on road and traffic conditions, concluding the Har Ki Dun Trekking Tour with memories of ancient mountain villages, forests, alpine meadows and the spectacular Valley of Gods.
